From a very young age, Andrea Brown struggled with fears that something bad would happen to her. Her fears became paranoia, which led to obsessions and, eventually, to compulsive behaviors. After receiving an official diagnosis at age 24, Andrea began to explore the events and patterns that caused her OCD symptoms to become so severe.
In pursuing treatment and navigating the stereotypes and stigma associated with her OCD diagnosis, Andrea discovered her passion for mental health advocacy. Andrea has a background in social work with experience in children’s mental health and workforce development. She enjoys spending time at home with her husband and son — watching TV, working on puzzles, playing with her son’s toys and enjoying his milestones.
